Karachi – The city is currently grappling with a wave of seismic activity, having experienced 15 earthquakes in the past 24 hours, with magnitudes ranging between 3.9 and 5.0 on the Richter scale.
The most affected area, Malir, has prompted authorities to declare a temporary state of emergency. In a precautionary move, prisoners from local jails have been temporarily relocated to nearby streets to ensure their safety.
Local residents have expressed concern over the increasing frequency of these tremors, which has made it difficult to predict when they might end. Although the intensity of the quakes appears to be decreasing, uncertainty remains.
